Annual Dinner - A note from Les and Elaine "First of all a really big thank you from Elaine and myself to everyone who attended the dinner! We had a great evening and we hope you did too. Good food, entertaining speakers followed by a great band!
For those of you who didn't attend, the raffle on the evening was in aid of Kidney Research. This was prompted by the fact that Rod McBain, a long standing club member and friend is to give his brother the gift of life next month by donating a kidney. We felt that this was such an admirable thing to do that we chose to donate the proceeds to this worthy cause. We raised in excess of £550! This sum will be matched by Barclays Bank, so not a bad sum to raise! So, if you didn't attend this year's dinner is there anything that would make you want to attend next year? Please let us know - after all it is your Club and your presentation dinner." Training Advice & VO2 Max Testing - For FREE Angela Hillman is a PhD student at the Hull Uni studying the area of Exercise Physiology. She is conducting her dissertation research on the effects of hydration status on oxidative stress in cycling exercise. Angela is looking to recruit her final 2 male subjects (under the age of 45) for her first study. Angela is looking for recreationally trained as well as competitive/racing cyclists and has contacted our club for volunteers (and is thankful to those who have already participated!). Testing will be conducted during two time slots: 10am-1pm or 4:30pm-7:30pm (can be a bit later). Three Peaks of Yorkshire Put the 27th September in
