Chris Whitelam Again

The weather once again deteriorated for race night and it became quite cold although the wind wasn't as strong as it had been. I'm told it was warm enough whilst racing. Beat thirty minutes on here and it's a good ride - but not from Chris Whitelam - it is expected of him. He doesn't dissapoint, you can safely put your money on him, but there are a few pretenders coming on to the scene. Dan Fulstow is creeping closer only 36 seconds gap and I know he's been training hard - I've seen him (or was it Gary?).

Ryan MacLachlan is also coming along fast, and he's only a first year junior. He did have Richard Moore starting a minute behind him in the race and had to pull out all the stops to keep him at bay which he did admirably, beating him even by a few seconds.

A brilliant ride from the diminutive schoolboy Calum McElwee - this must be a schoolboy record for this course (does anybody know?) If you want to think about power to weight ratios this lad must take the biscuit. we'll have to start calling him 'Mighty Mouse'. Keep it going Calum!

Andy Barnes is also moving up the rankings, keeping ahead of Neil and Tim is no mean feat. Neil has become like Nathan Chester, he just tours around and their teachers might have put on their reports "Could do better" Good to see them both continue competing - it's so much harder to do without the training.

Looking at the super vets they seem to be clustered together much closer tonight. Mick Adams may have been a little under par (I don't know) but John Weaden must have been quite happy with his time on this hilly course.

We'll have to prepare the overall chart to see how everyone is faring - we have so many 'guest' riders that I don't know who's in the leading position - behind Chris Whitelam, that is. See Picture Gallery
