Mark Swift Cup Lockington Circuit 27th April 2004

Quite a dull night for taking pictures, that's why I was at the start where you haven't got up too much speed. There's always a delay between pressing the shutter and taking the picture with digital cameras but only Steve Guymer beat me (he started fastest and moved out of focus too quickly). I was too late for the earliest starters and was changing batteries for Mally Daddy..

David Percival Mark Walker John Weaden
John Lockwood Terry Sullivan Dave Shackleton
Andy Penny Mick Adams Andy Barnes
Paul Kilvington John Anson Mark Burtonshaw
Roger Summers Pete Caldicott Derek Palmer
Andy Peers John Askew Mike Gomersall
Chris Peers Neil Cleminshaw Chris Burton
Nathan Wilson Magdi Elhabbal Nathan Chester
Paul Purdy Chris Garden Mike Kilgour
Ryan MacLachlan Dave Millson Dean Fulstow
Kevin Worth Steve Macklin Steve Guymer

Then I went along to the finish where the light was fading fast. This allowed me to try some arty shots. Not to everyone's liking and certainly not as sharp as you can get in bright sunlight I was taking at maximum aperture with speeds as low as 1/15th second. These pictures which are reduced in size and resolution don't look too bad , but the originals? Some have worked out perfectly - Nathan Chester, Ryan MacLachlan (see his pedals going round as opposed to Neil who was freewheeling but coming out of his saddle). Paul Purdy was definitely the fastest finisher although Steve Guymer was also coming in very speedily - his picture is barely recognisable but definitely a cyclist!
