September 2006

Graeme Robson - The committee are pleased to announce September's rider of the month is Graeme Robson. Most HTRC riders will associate Graeme with the annual 3 Peaks cyclo-cross race that is held in September and involves a route of approximately 42 miles over the peaks of Whernside , Ingleborough and Penny Gehnt. Although many of the newer members may never have met Graeme (or MAP as he is more commonly know) as he now lives in Holland, his record in the race is LEGENDARY having started the last 24 editions of the race. This race is not for the faint hearted and involves a very considerable amount of climbing on foot and takes all but the very best riders at least 4 or 5 hours to complete (and considerably more for some). Next year is MAPs silver jubilee in the race and it it would be great if other riders could join him or at least turn up to cheer him on. Bear in mind though that the event is always over subscribed and an early entry is necessary to avoid disappointment. Read about Graeme's adventures in this years event here. Graeme was a unanimous choice for the award. This is the last of the years awards. Thanks to Roy Irwin of Star Bikes for his continued sponsorship of this award
