'Barry has been a member of Thursday for more than 50 years. Throughout the 1950's and 60's he enjoyed a fairly successful racing career gaining places in National Championships, National team records and International selection. Still a keen and active rider he enjoys both road riding and mountain-biking, but prefers his rides to be
more sociable now adays. After a long career in promoting road races he now restricts his involvement to being an enthusiastic helper at all Club promoted races.'

Club Coach (Back To Top)

Jim is not just an ABCC qualified coach taking over these duties, but also the administrator for the Coaching Association. If you have any problems with your training programmes, just need someone to talk to then Jim always is there to help. He's also on the lookout for new coaches and can help anyone who would like to put something back into the sport, to help others. See the ABCC website

Jim also looks after this website taking over from John Cawley, with respect to the original setup by Gary Thornton. Hopefully this web site provide a focal point for club cycling in the East Riding. We aim to deliver a fully comprehensive guide to cycling in the hope to attract new members to the sport. A fast results service so that riders can gain valuable information from races. To provide full race reports and details of forthcomming events. To promote Cycling and the Hull Thursday Road Club to new heights in the East Riding Area. So if you want to be a part of the cycling magic then Join Hull Thursday Road Club.

Club President and Time Trial Secretary (Back To Top)

We want to introduce some variety into the club programme.Over the past year we have run a "sporting time trial series" which proved very popular. Run on quiet safer countryside roads, the various courses provided a chance to use a number of bike handling skill like cornering, fast decents, constant gear changes and some challenging hill climbs, all add to gaining more experience for road racing. We hope by promoting these events that this will provide a basis to encourage younger or new members to give racing a go.

Press/Publicity Officer (Back To Top)

As you can see we cater for a wide cross-section of cycling disciplines and there's someone dedicated to each one. And it's thanks to these people, our sponsors and all the members and friends of HTRC that this club's what it is today and has a future to look forward to. So let's share our success. If you're planning an event let's advertise it; if you're performing well let's spread the word; and that's what I'm here for. So tell me about it! . . . It's better than the grapevine.
