Lovely Saturday afternoon but a very poor turn-out for this event. Perhaps most of the competitors were on holiday, or perhaps it was because of a clash with an Open 10 on the fast V718 course on the A63. Whatever the reason, lots of people were 'on Jankers' Conditions for the race were very hot with a strong blustery wind hindering riders in every direction except the downhill stretch to the South Dalton turn. With James Frith and Neil Cleminshaw not competing, Dave Shackleton turned out the victor as expected taking nearly three quarters of a minute out of second placed Tim White. Tim improved by 43 second from his last event on this course whereas Dave went back by 59 seconds. Dave takes the Phillips Cup. The two lap race was won by Nathan Wilson from Andy Peers. Andy thought it was only a one lap race and needed some encouragement to go round a second time.were
