Groups around the Brantingham Circuit after the snow
After two harsh winter days (Wednesday and Thursday), the snow and slush cleared away sufficiently to be able to have this session, The access road from Stockbridge to Brantingham was slush-bound so when Nathan suggested using the bigger circuit through Elloughton he saved the day.
lst group on road - Paul Kilvington, Nathan Chester, Ryan MacLachlan, Deam Fulstow, Steve Macklin, Rob Allwell, Rob Stones
2nd group on the road: Miickey Moss, Paul Purdy, Dan Keena, Jon Dibble, Neil Cleminshaw, Damian Evington, Colin Sinclair, Mark Dicconson, joined by Chris Daddy
Mixed group which got together after the start Peter Smith, Mick Adams, Paul Hayward, Steve Guymer Tristan Batch
I was surprised so many had turned upand, thanks to Dennis, Lee and Mike Frow, who turned up on his barrow, we were able to marshal the big circuit through Elloughton village. Groups kept well together, the day was fine but it was very wet and dirty from melted snow. Rob Stones was the only one with mudguards and he was soon lathered up. The two main groups got together with two laps to go and split again with some hanging on to the faster group. There was a big sprint for the finish, but the real winners are those who have been working hard during the session. It was good to see Damian Evington back in the bunch and holding his own, maybe not fully recovered from his horrendous accident less than a year ago, but well enough to go along with the fast group and contest the sprint at the finish. Mind you, if Jon Dibble works hard in the session and still has enough to finish strong he should fare well in the early races. I think that the more established riders in this group put more effort into keeping the pace up, concentrating on getting some good groundwork in.
Next week is again at Brantingham, 2.00 o'clock
Here's the lap times: . Mick Adams and Pete Smith stayed together for three laps, fastest they did in 9.58, and Mick Adams and Paul Hayward ploughed around for four laps, fastest was 10.33.
