Saturday 15th Feb

 

 

Another fine day but very cold for eight laps of 2.6 mile circuit.  A gentler start this week but the gap between second and third groups not wide enough.  Scratch group completed the 21 miles, including chat lap, in 55.38.  Next week is the last week again at Sproatley, east of Hull, at 2 o'clock

lst group :  Rob Stones, Mick Adams, Peter Smith (young), Paul Hayward, John Lockwood

2nd group: Chris Burton, Mark Best, Richard Bielby, Tristan Batch, Rob Almond, Ryan Maclachlan, Barry Dixon

3rd group:  Neil Cleminshaw, Nathan Chester, Paul Purdy, Mike Moss, Steve Macklin, Kev Eckersall, Damian Evington, Jon Dibble, Tony Boynton, joined by Richard Moore

Almost got the gaps right this week, if it wasn't for the scratch group.  Groups 2 and 3 merged just after four laps and stayed together for a couple of laps until Richard Moore split it up taking Neil Cleminshaw, Paul Purdy, Jon Dibble, Mike Moss, Damian Evington and, hanging on for grim death, the old warhorse himself Rob Stones.  The gap opened up, perhaps some pleased to take it steady over the mud, frozen into lumps over the main road.  At the finish a minute separated the front two groups and all had had another good workout.
