Jack Kirk Column - Skidby Ten Mile Course - Saturday 11th September 2004
Just after the start is a good place to get everybody's picture, and the sun's in the right place too. Not so good at the finish, more contre-jour and the riders come past at least doing 25 mph. I include a youthful 76 year old Don Wilkinson who also came by the finish (not racing but helping) and Steve Macklin appropriately by the chequered flag, hopefully a sign for the race on Sunday. Also some at the presentation - the one that got away unfortunately was of Chris Whitelam - hopelessly out of focus. But notice Dean Fulstow's tee shirt - he's gone fully international this weekend and rode the LVRC event in a swiss jersey (you are allowed to do that if you wish).
Next batch of pics should be the boxing day ten - all in costume this year I hope.
