Surprise as Chris Whitelam fastest in Ninth of TT Series
The
wind blew hard from the west. And when it's hard from the
west the climb up through Little Weighton is torture. At
least it didn't rain; it had done all morning and only 17
riders faced the timekeeper.
I
thought a rear disk wheel wouldn't be helpful on a day like
this but the two fastest used them. At this time of the
year we must say "Chapeau!" to Chris who took
a minute out of Jeremy Ireland who is going very well. If
you want to consider the mere mortals then you must pick
out Nathan Chester and David Campbell. Nathan caught and
passed Chris Garden off a minute and Chris usually beats
him by half a minute. David Campbell's ride is very consistent
- there's only about half a minute difference between lap
one and two so David really found his legs for lap two.
It
rained again shortly after the event had finished so someone
out there is looking out for us.
