Team Swift - Open Ten League Results 2008 – Events 1 & 2
Hull Thursday RC Riders (First and Second Claim) results are shown from the first two Open Ten League Events held on the V718 A63 Course, the winner is shown and time-gap from them to our riders. Event 1 was won by Adam Duggleby – recording a new PB on the super-fast V718 course.
Event 2 showed good promise, however light rain from the start was followed by the Council strategically placing Traffic Cones on the West-Bound Carriageway, closing the left-hand lane, bizarrely commencing at the same time the event actually started – suffice it to say that this promoted an increasing danger to competitors and quite sensibly the second half of the field of 90 riders was prevented from starting. Times were however recorded for the first half of the field. Joel Wainman was leading, just 1 second outside his PB set back in 1997 when he was riding for Hull Thursday RC. However I’m sure there is more to come and the season is still young. It’s worth noting Adam Duggleby beat Joel by some 27 seconds in event 1 (Joel recorded 20:10), so I suspect Adam is wondering what might have been!
Hopefully events 3 and 4 will yield better trouble-free results.
